Adventures of Bean and Nate

About the Series

Adventures of Bean and Nate is a faith-based children’s series created to help kids—especially neurodivergent kids—see themselves in the Bible. Through humor, imagination, and adventure, the stories celebrate differences and remind readers that God has a purpose for every child, exactly as they were created.

Book One

Adventure with Peter the Fisherman

When siblings Bean and Nate are unexpectedly swept back in time, they find themselves on the shores of the Sea of Galilee—standing ankle-deep in fish, questions, and a world that feels nothing like home.

Bean’s imagination never stops racing, and Nate experiences the world through textures, sounds, and worries that don’t always make sense to others. Together, they stumble into the everyday life of Simon Peter—long before miracles, sermons, or discipleship—when he was just a tired fisherman trying to make a living.

As Bean and Nate navigate ancient boats, unfamiliar food, and overwhelming moments, they begin to discover something bigger than time travel: God has a plan for people who feel different, distracted, anxious, or misunderstood. Their differences aren’t mistakes—they’re part of how God made them, and part of how He works in the world.

Adventures of Bean and Nate: Adventure with Peter the Fisherman invites children to step into the Bible and see themselves in the story—to know that God understands their minds, their struggles, and their hearts, and that there is a place for them in His story just as they are.

Alongside writing stories for children, Angeline also writes honestly for adults. Her blog is a space for real-life reflections on faith, parenting, doubt, growth, and what Jesus actually says—without filters, buzzwords, or easy answers.

These posts are thoughtful, sometimes messy, and always rooted in the belief that faith was never meant to be shallow or performative. Angeline writes for readers who want to wrestle with Scripture, ask hard questions, and follow Jesus in a way that’s authentic, compassionate, and deeply human.
